Currently, most Vietnamese identity card scanners suffer from the following problems:

• Limited Reading Capability: They can read only the QR code on the front or only the MRZ (Machine Readable Zone) Code on the back, but seldom can read both.
• Rigid Placement Requirements: When reading ID cards, it is often required that one specific side of the card face down or up or that the card be placed directly or rotated 180 degrees. This often leads to users being unable to distinguish whether to place the front or back towards the scanner or whether to place the ID card directly or rotate it 180 degrees. This causes significant trouble in practical use and greatly affects scanning efficiency.
• For the above reasons, people cannot put the ID card into the scanning window randomly to read the information in the ID card chip, so when we need to read the biometric data in the chip inside the ID card, the operation is very inconvenient.
• Lack of Authenticity Features: They lack UV (Ultraviolet) identification functionality to determine the document’s authenticity.

Introducing the IDE200-V3.0 Multi-functional ID Card Scanner

To address the above problems, IDEPASS/RTSCAN has developed the IDE200-V3.0, a small, multi-functional ID card scanner.

A single-step operation completes a series of identity information acquisitions: simply place the ID card into the scanning window, whether it faces down or up, and wherever the ID card is placed directly or rotated 180 degrees, the scanner will automatically detect it. It then automatically triggers and starts scanning, captures ID card images, recognizes the QR code or MRZ, and reads the identity information from the internal chip.
